[Infographic] How People See Your Website
No one can argue that more and more businesses, both big and small, are relying more and more on their website to bring them money. They may use their website for purely promotional purposes or they may actually use their website to convert and have potential customers or clients use their website to do business with them.
In any case, it is important to know what the visitors look at so that we are able to design a website that will appeal to the most people. The guys from Crucial, an Australian web hosting company, have done the research for us and they are sharing their findings in the form of an infographic where you can learn a lot about how visitors see a website.
We have to admit that there are quite a few surprising pieces of data that they have uncovered for us. For instance, they have found out that as many as 75% of people make a decision about a company’s credibility based on the design of their website. We knew this is true for many people, but the percentage is still a surprising one.
The percentage of people whose first impressions are completely design-based is 94%, which means pretty much everyone. Also, it should be noted that scrolling is not an issue for most visitors who will be happy to scroll down to content that is not visible when they first visit the website. There is also a lot about the importance of having a version of your website that will be mobile device-friendly.
There is a ton to be learned from this great infographic and perhaps the main thing to take from it would be to pay attention to the web design of your business website. It might just make or break your online business dreams and hopes.
