Quick Fix: What Tools Help You Get Smarter Email Signups?
I’ve been playing around with a few cool email tools over on my PR site, How to Create a Press Release, and I wanted to share them with you. As a result of using them, I’ve seen far more email signups over the last few weeks than I ever did with my old stale signup form.

Scroll Box by SumoMe
This is truly my new best friend! And it’s free, to boot. Scroll Box lets you easily put a non-annoying box that pops up and where you want it to appear on your site so that people can sign up for your email offers. If you only want it to appear on certain pages of your site or blog, you can customize that. That way, you can set up different scroll boxes for different offers that relate to various pages.
Active Campaign
I’ve been toying with different email marketing platforms, and have landed on Active Campaign for a few reasons. One, it makes it really easy to create a series of emails and schedule them at various intervals. Two, it plays nicely with Scroll Box, so I can automatically import any new signups from Scroll Box into the appropriate mailing list. Three, it’s just $9 a month.
Better Targeted Email Offers
This isn’t a tool, but rather a strategy. I used to offer a single goodie via email, like a free whitepaper. Now I’m experimenting with different giveaways that relate to some of my most popular posts. The jury is still out, but I do have signups for all of my lists!
