Home Is Where You Make Your Profits

One of the beautiful things about affiliate marketing is it knows no borders or boundaries. For those of us who worked for decades to achieve a "portable" career, it's nice to see how Affiliate Classroom training makes it possible for more and more people to make an excellent living outside the confines of an office or a cubicle. For more than a year we've been privileged to help our students achieve success, and not just in the U.S.A., but all over the globe.

So in this issue we focus on the European affiliate marketing scene. Although overlooked by most "make-money-online" cliques, pay-for-performance marketing is experiencing growth and a revival after a slump a few years ago. So in our cover story we look at the sheer size of the EU online marketplace, as well as its extraordinarily healthy online buying habits.

How to best tap into this lucrative marketplace? First, an online marketer who has done business in both the UK and Spain offers some tips and an FAQ on EU affiliate entry tactics.

Then you can dig into advice from another European affiliate who lives and does business in Hungary. Her article on the creative and cultural challenges of the European affiliate scene will inspire you to explore this vast marketplace while respecting local differences. We end our trip to the EU with an overview of some of the most prominent affiliate networks.

And for those of you who aren't quite ready to scale international affiliate borders, you'll find plenty of good ideas you can apply close to home. First an expert in keyword arbitrage shares her detailed case study of a 100% profit AdSense Arbitrage campaign. Then a content development consultant shares some secrets for creating multiple streams of traffic - and revenue - by recycling anything and everything you've already written.

And our SEO article touches on a rarely discussed topic that deserves more attention: what to do to avoid or recover from over-optimization penalties. The top news stories are worth a look, since they could all have an impact on your affiliate business. In our program announcements we've chosen the most interesting new affiliate programs launched in the past few months. And as always, in our Letters section we answer your questions on everything from content blogs to marketing lingo.

To those of you in the EU who may be downloading this magazine for the first time: We hope what you read here will inspire you to not just try your hand at affiliate marketing, but take it seriously and build on the solid business model we teach in Affiliate Classroom. Then you can join our Affiliate Classroom students in saying, "It's a good time to be an affiliate." No matter where your profits come from, or what country you call home.
