The Sphinn community consists primarily of search-engine and interactive marketing professionals interested in a broad range of topics in the technology field. You can generate quality traffic to your Web site or blog by having your content submitted to Sphinn, although keep in mind that others should submit your content. Submitting your own content may appear to readers as an attempt to spam or self-promote, which is typically frowned upon within the social networking space. Sphinn is similar to the popular social news Web site Digg.com in that stories with the most votes from members of the community are deemed most popular and therefore gain premium placement on the coveted Sphinn home page. On the Sphinn home page you can sort the most popular news stories by current or previous day, week, or month.

Your profile includes information that allows other Sphinn members to get to know you and understand your background, as well as your involvement on other social networks, both of which can lead to additional traffic, buzz, and links. 2 If you do not already have a Sphinn account, click Join Us and choose a username, password, and e-mail address.
3 Login to your Sphinn account.
4 Click Submit to submit a new article or story.
5 Enter the article or story's URL.

The Sphinn.com Web site allows you to sort news stories by five main sections, including Hot Topics, What's New, Greatest Hits, Comments, and Submit. In addition, you can break down each content section into numerous categories, including Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, Search Marketing, Social Media, and Online Marketing. Sorting content by category is especially useful if you want to quickly review information related to specific topics.
